Australians – some of the most prolific Social Media users in the world

Dec 4, 2017   //   by Mathilda   //   Latest News  //  Comments Off on Australians – some of the most prolific Social Media users in the world

With Christmas just around the corner, social media agency SocialMediaNews.com.au reports a slight shift  in the way social media is being used. The report indicates an increase in social media usage as people take holidays and time off with family and friends and generally tend to share more online. It is also a time of the year when we see new users join social networks.

Social Media users in Australia are some of the most prolific in the world, with a total of around 60% of the country’s population an active user on Facebook, and 50% of the country logging in at least once a day.

It’s also worth noting that globally Facebook now as 2.01 billion monthly active users, growing by 500 million users in the last 2 years. Facebook’s continued growth means they now have over 20,000 staff around the world.

As a club, big or small, the use of social media as a communication tool for your members and customers is at the heart of your marketing. I recommend that you focus on one platform at a time (ie Facebook) versus trying to communicate across several platforms. Be an expert on Facebook and not an amateur on all the others.

Of course which platform is best for you will be based on your target market demographics and how they all like to be communicated with.
